Electrician Simulator

They have given me a toolbox.

I have spent my life studying the sword. Now some idiot wants me to fix a light socket.

I accepted the job.

Then I had a drink. Then another.

Electrician Simulator is simple, find what is broken. Take it apart. Replace the broken thing. Put everything back before the homeowner notices what you have done. The game slowly introduces wiring, switches, outlets, appliances, fuses, and other electrical nonsense without making the whole thing terribly complicated.

This is good, I like good.

There is something satisfying about finding a fault and fixing it. New tools arrive. Jobs become slightly more complicated. My little workshop grows. For a while, I felt like a real electrician.

Then I realized I had been fixing the same damn socket for twenty minutes.

That is the problem. The systems are pleasant, but they are shallow. Once you understand how the jobs work, there isn't much left to master. The game gives me more work, but not necessarily more interesting work. Eventually I am doing the same things with slightly more expensive equipment while wondering why nobody has hired a real electrician.

The humor helps. The game knows it is ridiculous, and thankfully it does not take itself too seriously. But charm can only carry a toolbox so far. Eventually the jobs start feeling like jobs, and I already have one of those.

Still...

The lights work. Nothing caught fire.

I only shocked myself twice or maybe three times.

The third one may have been the drink.
