The Honor Dojo
About The Honor Dojo
A place for games to earn their honor.
Why TheDojo exists
There are more games worth playing than any one person could ever get to. Finding the right one shouldn't require sorting through endless numbers, hype, and noise.
The Honor Dojo is built to make game discovery more intentional. We play games, form opinions, and give them a place on the Honor Ladder based on the experience they actually deliver.
Judgments, not verdicts.
TheDojo isn't here to tell you what you're supposed to like. Every judgment is an opinion, and every reviewer brings their own perspective to a game.
Our goal is to give you an honest perspective you can use. You may agree with it. You may disagree with it. Either way, you should understand why the reviewer reached that conclusion.
Based. Honest. Earned.
We believe good game criticism starts with actually playing the game and being willing to stand behind your opinion.
We don't want scores shaped by publishers, developers, advertisers, popularity, or the pressure to fit a consensus. We want judgments that are based on the experience and honestly earned by the person making them.
You don't have to agree with us.
You just deserve to know that the person making the judgment actually believes it.
The Honor Ladder
Every game that receives a judgment earns a numerical score and an Honor tier. The ladder gives you a quick sense of where a game landed while the written judgment explains the reasoning behind it.
The number is useful. The context matters more.
A community around games
TheDojo is also a place to see what other players are enjoying. Likes, Favorites, Community rankings, and activity give members a way to discover games through the people using the Dojo.
We're building the site around discovery and conversation without losing the thing that matters most: honest opinions about games.
