Our Judgment

Even a Sensei fears the unknown.

They have brought me a game about space.

I have never been to space.

Apparently, there is no floor.

This is already troubling.

Breathedge throws me into the emptiness with little more than a suit, a dead grandfather, and a chicken that seems to possess greater survival instincts than I do. I know nothing of spacecraft or oxygen systems. But I know this: a warrior who does not prepare will not remain a warrior for long. Here, that means watching my oxygen, gathering what I can, and thinking carefully before drifting too far from safety.

The crafting is where I begin to understand the appeal. The wreckage surrounding me looks like garbage, but garbage becomes tools, tools become equipment, and equipment allows me to travel farther. Eventually, the pathetic little shelter I began with becomes something useful. There is an old lesson here: a skilled warrior does not need much. He simply needs to know how to use what he has.

Unfortunately, Breathedge asks for more patience than it always deserves. There is a great deal of gathering and drifting, and some of the progression feels stretched simply to keep me searching for the next thing. The survival systems rarely create the danger I expect, while the constant humor sometimes interrupts moments that would have been stronger if the game had simply allowed the silence to remain.

Yet I cannot deny the strange charm of it. I am floating through the wreckage of a dead world, discovering machines I do not understand and places no Sensei has ever trained. There is something humbling about that. I have spent my life learning how to face the unknown. Breathedge simply reminds me that there are still places where even an old Sensei knows nothing.

And perhaps that is why I kept going.
